吾輩は猿である。
毎日たくさんの人間たちを見ていると、実に不思議なことばかりである。
なぜ急いで走るのか。
なぜ長い列に並ぶのか。
なぜ小さな箱を見ながら笑ったり怒ったりするのか。
猿の世界にはない習慣が、人間の世界にはたくさんある。
この物語は、そんな人間たちを木の上から観察した吾輩の記録である。
笑いながら英語も学べるよう、日本語と英語を交互に並べてみた。
それでは人間観察の旅を始めよう。

第1章 人間はなぜそんなに荷物を持つのか
吾輩は猿である。今日も木の上から人間たちを観察している。

人間たちはいつも何かを手に持って歩いている。

If I were carrying them, they would only get in the way of jumping between trees.
